The less there is to look at, the more important it is  that we look at it closely and carefully. This is critical to abstract art. Small difference make all the difference.

Doodling

Now since I have decided to keep updating my blog on regular intervals, I have started working on getting my hands on Sketch Pad. Started off with Zentangle. Came out with this Zentangle Butterfly. Loved doing it.

We have only 3 working days this week. Wednesday and Thursday is off due to Eid ul fitr and Ganesh Chaturthi, the indian festivals. Lots of fun and frolic around.

This week challenge in I am Diva is Kiss my Grid.

So here goes the entry for the challenge...

Margaret Bremner, a fellow CZT, brings us this week's Diva Challenge (number 35).

So here it goes...

Been very busy since few days. My office have shifted twice in a span of one month. Of course the earlier one was time gap arrangement. Now settling down in a new office.

I have missed the last two challenges, and decided not going to miss this one. The week challenge is Opposites Attract

Am not very happy with picture. This was taken from a mobile.

Adding colours in Black & White picture.

This week challenge in I am Diva is Fairyland.

I went to shool days while doing this challenge. I was not sure to put this on my blog but finally decided to put. This looks so kiddish but it was kinda fun. This was looking very  kiddish, so  I used 3D glitters.

I have discoverd  this beautiful Zentangle art work and have been working on it for some time. I just need a paper and a pen and I start doodling where ever I am.Till now I used to doodle as a good stress buster, but recently I came across a wonderful blog I am the Diva - Certified Zentagle Teacher by Laura and was glad to discover the weekly challenges.I  have not participated in any challenge till date and this is my first weekly challenge. Now I get a reason to tangle every week.

This is the 30th weekly challenge and the topic is  String Thoery v.V : Initialize - draw first and last initials, overlapping, and use this as the string for the tangles.

So here what came out with my initials SS

This was fun...
This time i decided to play with Zentagles in a larger form. It took me some time to complete this one compared to the smaller ones.

I was reminded of this quote while working on this Zentangle - "We've had this strange intertwining relationship without really knowing each other." - Lyn Redgrave.

Linking this to Weekend Wrap

Having played with Zentangles  thought of taking the Zentangle idea and putting it together with the traditional Mandala Art Drawing --- and made Zendala...

Zendalas are A hybrid of a Mandala Circle and Zentangle Art.

Mandala is a sanskrit word which means "CIRCLE".

I am addicted with tangling since a week. Check out these Zentangles...

I am posting after a long time. I was actually busy... doing nothing. :-)  You know at times you want to do lots of things but end up doing nothing. I dont know how many of you feel the same way, but i do feel this very often. So I did some some scribbling while doing lots of other things... and doodled these Zentangles. Doodling is a good stress buster and helps in concentration...

After trying few Zen-tagles with black pen/ pencil, was very much eager to do something with colouring the tangles. I always enjoy playing with colours. The time that I most appreciate creating art is when I just want to colour.
One may wonder how to start doodling. The simplest answer I can offer is to just begin and then you will be surprised what you have created.
Put your pen to paper and see where your hand takes you. There are no rules except for the ones you make for yourself.  There is more to it than filling a page with circles and swirls.
While creating Zentangles  I was wondering why Zentangles are called as Zen-tangle. Must be to do with ZEN. I knew ZEN is a Buddhist philosophy. Checked Wikipedia for the real meaning of Zen...Wikipedia meaning of Zen is “The Japanese word Zen is derived from the Chinese word Chán, which in turn is derived from the Sanskrit word dhyāna, which means "meditation" or "meditative state."
Zentangle is nothing less than meditation. It helps focussing, relaxation, relieve stress, improve eye/hand co-ordination.
Am just getting started. When I sit down to Tangle I go into the ‘zone’ and don’t think much at all…just doodle. Gets the creative juice flowing.

ACT 2

ACT 3

While surfing net, i came across a very interesting art form known as ZENTANGLES.  Zentangle is method of creating images with repetitive pattern. At a glance, zentangle looks very complicated but once you start creating it you realises its not as difficult as it looks. What I liked about Zentangle is that it helps in focus and is a good stress buster.  Zentangle is simple to understand and easy to enjoy — even if you are convinced you are not an artist. You never get bored because with Zentangle, you can always explore new areas of experience and understanding.
After checking few sites, i decided to create my own tangle. All I needed was a good black pen.  Luckily, I got hold of black pen and immediately started creating Zen tangles.

This is my first Zentagle. Created 16 blocks and this is what came out.

This is my second Zen-tangle.
