Recycled Bottle Table Lamp

Got a recycling bin full of glass bottles. Why waste them when you could have a new table lamp.

Turning any rum bottle into a table lamp is very simple. All 

you need to do is outline black liners in zig zag fashion and use glass colour for filling. 

Insert strand of light. The color of the bottle enhances the
glow of the light, adding ambiance to a room.

String Wrapped Vase

Recently I found some twine or known as Sutli in Hindi  in my house. I just started thinking what to do with it.  So I came up with something intereesing...

I happened to have a empty bottle of a energy drink  on hand, so I used that. I used fevicol around the base  of the bottle and laid the string around it and kept circling up. Its recommend to start circling from the bottom of the jar / bottle. I used glue about every ½ inch turn around the bottle. Just keep winding the bottle around and around with glue  every often.

After putting the string I have decorated the bottle using metallic colors... 

Have added some sequins....

This project took a lot more time than I expected, but I love how it turned out. I hope you like it too.

Home Decor with hand painted tiles

When we shifted to our apartment almost one and half years back, I found few tiles in the balcony. While cleaning, I was about to throw them, but on second thoughts I kept them for crafting. And I thought of painting these tiles. 

One can use these to decorate these in living room or any room. I used these hand painted tiles in my bathroom… gives a very different look…

Earth Day!!!

Sharing yet another craft from scrap. I made these from Milk tetra pack and a throw away packaging card box. Next time I will try to take the picture of the scrap that will turn into  adorable stuff.  A fun way to celebrate Earth Day!!!

Refrigerator Magnets

One fine day I thought I need to have organizer or in other words “Things to remember” which should be in front of my eyes.  So which is the best place where you can have things to remember list.  How about in kitchen sticking on the refrigerator.  What I needed was Refrigerator magnet.  

Refrigerator magnets can be used to hold reminders, or be a reminder in themselves. A refrigerator magnet is an ornament, often whimsical, attached to a small magnet which is used to post items such as shopping list or birthday list on a refrigerator, or which simply serves as decoration.

I had small magnets with me, from the old magnetic chess games. So thought of creating my own refrigerator magnets.

I used two ways of creating the same.

I used 3D glitters for decorations. I just love glitters; one can do anything with them.   My favourite is the golden colored and blue coloured, which one is yours.

Recycling with Glass bottles

Lot of people liked the bottles that I recycled. Now I was motivated to do something different and came up another idea. Took me just 10 minutes to create this.

I used rangoli colours (colored sand) and came up with this….

Glass bottles recycled for eye-catching art.

Since we all are aware of the menace of waste bottles, it’s essential that individually we all come up with innovative and practical ideas to recycle, and reuse them. I have tried to GO GREEN by reusing the wasted glass bottles which can be used for flower vase or just eye catching decoration. I have mixed Water based Scumling Medium with metallic acrylic colors and outlined by 3D outliner. I have outlined with Zentangle style.  I am going to leave it here and let the images speak for themselves…..
