Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia to take a stand against climate change. Last year On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 people across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – OUR PLANET

Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time).  We should go beyond the earth hour to make the difference.

It is high time we wake up and make some serious efforts to save our nature. We  should think what we can give rather than what we can get from our Mother Earth.

Simple ways to save the environment -

  • Turn off appliances, light, Fans, TV when you are not using them.

Remember to switch off the mains button after using any electric device.

  • Turn off the water taps while brushing your teethshaving, washing dishes, and even taking a shower. Don’t Waste Water.

  • Use rechargeable batteries instead of disposable batteries.

  • Avoid using disposable items as much as possible.
  • Avoid using plastic whenever you can (things like disposable plastic cups, plastic bags) Plastic never break downs and leads to poisoning and death of numerous creatures. Instead use paper bags, cloth bag and cardboard containers. Use a ceramic coffee mug instead of a disposable cup.

Reuse, Reduce, Recycle
Recycling is one of the best measures of saving the environment.

  • Copy and print both sides of the paper
  • Reuse items like envelopes, folders and paper clips.
  • Use discarded paper for scrap paper.

These are some of the simple ways in which we can contribute towards saving nature. A small step by each of us can make a huge leap towards saving the environment.

Let’s come together to save our environment.

One fine day I thought I need to have organizer or in other words “Things to remember” which should be in front of my eyes.  So which is the best place where you can have things to remember list.  How about in kitchen sticking on the refrigerator.  What I needed was Refrigerator magnet.

Refrigerator magnets can be used to hold reminders, or be a reminder in themselves. A refrigerator magnet is an ornament, often whimsical, attached to a small magnet which is used to post items such as shopping list or birthday list on a refrigerator, or which simply serves as decoration.

I had small magnets with me, from the old magnetic chess games. So thought of creating my own refrigerator magnets.

I used two ways of creating the same.

I used 3D glitters for decorations. I just love glitters; one can do anything with them.   My favourite is the golden colored and blue coloured, which one is yours.

Happy Crafting!!!

Hi! Friends, it’s been sometime that I have updated my blog. Not that I was busy with something great, but I did do some new crafty work, which will share with you guys very soon. Also I was a little bored of my blog template and at the same time was not ready to let go my old template. The breath of the template was too narrow, so was not able to do much.  So eventually I decided to change the template.  I still need to work more on this template and organize my gadgets.  But I thought I will get myself going with my new template and the modification can take place later. Sometimes starting without perfection works better than waiting till it is perfect and realizing that it is outdated. You know what I mean…

So now what to post.  Since I have used a very flowery template, why not post NATURE. Have recently joined this group Walk the Mumbai Trees who select a locality & walk around it giving information about the trees present there.   Captured the nature on my mobile.

Facts About Carnations
  • It is believed that carnation flowers sprung up in places where the tears of the Virgin Mary fell when she cried out in pain on seeing her son Jesus nailed to a cross. This flower was pink in color.
